Basic resources. You can gather these. Buying them converts gold into something free.

Speedups. Poor value, and you should have saved speedups for flagship upgrades anyway.

Anything you are buying because it looks rare. Rotating shops manufacture urgency. If you cannot name what you would use it for, do not buy it.

The Refresh Trap

Buying refreshes to hunt for a specific item is the single largest gold sink in the market, and it almost never pays.

The maths is straightforward: refreshes cost gold, stock is partly random, and the item you want has no guarantee of appearing regardless of how many you buy. Players routinely spend more on refreshes than the item would have cost to acquire another way.

The one exception: you are one item short of a flagship upgrade or an event completion with a hard deadline, and the item has no other source in the time you have. That is a genuine emergency, and emergencies justify inefficiency.

Antiques, Auctions and Related Systems
